RE: New XM Channel Listing

I doubt if they are the same. On XM you pay extra for NFL channels and whatever they throw in with that. I would guess that Sirius has a similar setup to get select XM channels. The XM channels are still the same as before, I assume Sirius will stick with their channel lineup. Watch me be wrong.

RE: 30amp home hookup

You should use 10 Gauge minimum unless you are going a long distance and then 8 gauge.

RE: 80 vs. Turnpike across PA

I can't speak for the very eastern portion of I80,but the Ohio line to at least as far as Exit 178 is pretty smooth. I travel that portion regularly. Don't believe what the truckers say about I80. There are many roads in much worse shape. The PA Turnpike is no better than I80 in my opinion. You also have to consider the difference in distance and the Turnpike toll.

RE: Tire Wear

I had an axle that needed realigned on our 1996 Coleman. The tires were wearing on the inside. The cure was the bending of the axle back to the proper angle and the addition of the bridge brace. Towing the trailer out of level can cause unusual tire wear. What the wear pattern is for that I do not know.

RE: 2001 Coleman Westlake weight?

If you go back to the portal and click on Fleetwood you will find the 2001 manual. And it probably isn't much different than the 2002.

RE: 2001 Coleman Westlake weight?

I have a 2001 brochure and the Westlake is list at 2440 pounds unloaded. That would be before any options are added, any tanks filled,or cargo. The GVW is listed as 3350 pounds, with 3000 pounds axle weight, and 350 pounds tongue weight. Empty they are 2305 pounds and 135 pounds respectively. Hope this helps.

RE: Fleetwood Santa Fe and Cheyenne

Fleetwood recommended that the storage box have some sort of load in it to increase tongue weight while towing to eliminate sway. This is especially true when towing the empty unit home from the dealership. They recommend you bring something heavy to load in the box. My dealer friend told me that.

RE: Bunk end shelving

We have had the bunk end shelves for a number of years. We first put them in our 1996 Fleetwood and then tranferred them to our 2007 Fleetwood. We really like them. They are great for all your little odds and ends items.

RE: Taking AUX lite out side

Maddog348, I wouldn't go to that Radio Shack for anything. They must have hired the boss's idiot son. That combo should serve you well.

RE: Taking AUX lite out side

Go to your local Radio Shack store and tell them what you want to do and they should be able to fix you up. You will need an inline 1/4" mono phone jack, a cigarette lighter plug, and some lamp cord. You may have to do a bit of soldering.

RE: Problem with bracing under "sofa" of Fleetwood Sun Valley

The goucho is made to convert to a bed, we do it all the time. If you pull the seat out, it only pulls out so far, and then place the seat back cushion with the hard board back in the bare spot you should have no problem sleeping a healthy sized adult there. The whole perimeter of the framed area and the center brace supports the weight over the empty storage area. The older Sun Valley had a drawer under the goucho and the top had plywood over that area. Now they saved some money and eliminated the drawer and left the space above open for storage. To reattach the brace I would get a flat head bolt, a nut, a lock washer, and flat washer to replace the pop rivet. The hole the rivet goes through may be over size for the rivet.

RE: trailer Mirrors

If you cannot see over the trailer with the inside rear view mirror and cannot see what is behind you with the outside mirrors you need extended mirrors. They are of some help in seeing back. I have the ones with the rubber straps that attach to the regular mirrors. They work OK and have always stayed on. Just make sure you keep them tight. I do not need them when towing the Fleetwood popup, but they are a must with the HiLo. I think that there are state laws requiring you to have mirrors that extend far enough to see past the trailer.

RE: Running Fridge on battery

I do not believe that running the refrigerator on propane while traveling is a safe practice and I think there are laws that address this type of thing. First, while fueling up there are fumes that could be ignited by the pilot light. Second, in the event of an accident, the hose to the open gas bottle could become damaged and allow propane to escape. I also think there are prohibitions about going through tunnels with open propane tanks. Read this: http://www.gypsyjournal.net/traveling_with_propane.htm Please anyone, correct me if I am wrong. I have run on 12 volts for many years and it has worked fine. As stated before, just make sure you have the refrigerator precooled and have your food cold when you put it in.

RE: Hot Water Heater Spews At Me

First, look to see if there is a temperature setting dial on the WH. It my need turned back to a cooler setting. The thermostat may be faulty, they are usually replaceable. Your best bet would be to take it to your dealer for replacememnt.

RE: 2006 niagar fleetwood

Do you have the manual for the toilet? They are usually included with the unit when new. You should take a look and see if the parts and model numbers are listed.

RE: Tire Pressure

Did you check the tire inflation sticker on the side of the trailer. It usually gives a TP for the tires at maximum trailer load.

RE: TOWING QUESTION

Coleman switched from 1 7/8" to 2" hitches, but I believe yours is 1 7/8" based on the model year. If you have sway, it sounds more like a tongue weight issue to me.

RE: Fleetwood Utah/hot water bypass/fridge operation

There should be a bypass valve inside the camper next to the WH that should be turned. (Consult your manual.) I hope you had water in the WH when you had it fired up. Your dealer should have had that checked out or should have shown you how to switch the valve when he was giving you the the run through on setting up and taking down. The switch that operates with the galley has no effect on the refer operation. It only turns off the lights so you can't accidently close up the camper with the lights on and melt things inside.

RE: Door Locks

Only lock the door handle lock, his master key will work on it. The other lock works only with your key.

RE: Watkins Glen

This will be of no help to you, but I camped there in the 1960's. It was quite a wild place back in those days, you wouldn't of wanted to camp there then if you wanted to keep anything of value, including your RV. Those days are over, thank goodness.
